There is no standard day rate for AV in Marrakech, because the equipment is rarely the largest part of the bill. A quote is built from crew days, build and de-rig time, redundancy, venue constraints and technical complexity — and those move the total far more than the gear list does. Two quotes for the same event can differ by a factor of three and both be honest; they are pricing different amounts of work.
To get a comparable number, ask every supplier for an itemised list: equipment by line, crew by role and day, build and de-rig hours, and backup items shown separately. Asimetrica quotes in that format by default.

How to Compare Two AV Quotes
A cheaper quote is only cheaper if it covers the same work
- Count the crew days in each quote, including build and de-rig — not just show days.
- Check whether backup items appear as separate lines, or not at all.
- Confirm which items are owned and which are sub-rented for your dates.
- Look for the build and de-rig schedule; its absence usually means it was not costed.
- Verify screen sizes and speaker counts match between quotes before comparing totals.
- Ask whether transport, power distribution, cabling and rigging are included or extra.
- Check whether a technical rehearsal is in the schedule or assumed to happen for free.
- Establish who is prime contractor and who is being sub-contracted on the day.
What an Unusually Low AV Price Means
A quote well below the others is not a discount. It is a different scope. In practice it usually means one or more of:
- Fewer crew days. Setup happens the morning of the event, and nobody stays on console during sessions.
- No backup equipment. There is one radio microphone per speaker and no spare channel.
- Equipment sourced late. The gear is sub-rented days before, so the exact models are unknown until load-in.
- No pre-production. No site visit, no rehearsal, no venue coordination — the plan is made in the room.
- Scope shifted to you. Power, rigging, transport or a venue technician is assumed to be someone else's cost.
None of these are dishonest by themselves. They become a problem when the quote is compared against one that includes them all.
